There's nothing in the world like the devotion of a married woman. It's a thing no married man knows anything about.
- Oscar Wilde
We
are proud women of this great nation. We are progressing at an exponential rate.
We went to moon (Kalpana Chawla). We worked relentlessly for the country and
for humanity (Indira Gandhi, Kiran Bedi, Mother Terrassa) We showed our
identity in the field of sports too (Anju Boby George, Jhulan Goswami, Sania Mirza,
Tejasvani sawant, Jackie Johner-Kersee).

But
one question always teases. What is my worth? I got lot of achievements in my
life. In India people respect me also but still they don’t know my worth. Sometimes
they insult me by seeing my face’s black colour my face structure. They
humiliate me at each pace of my progress but I am moving ahead with a bright smile.
Sometimes one important man of my life says that “I am the most beautiful girl which he got in his fortunate destiny”, but
suddenly a day comes and the same person says (behind my back) the same about
another girl. But still I smile, I know my worth. But when will that day come
and when will he understand my worth?
I have grown up with some sentiments and
morals which my parents taught me. But when I follow those morals and
sentiments to protect my freedom, to maintain my respect in this society, my
parents themselves suggest me not to follow those morals. I was raped by many
men some men raped me through their eyes, some raped through their cheap
language, few tried to touch me but still I am “PAVITRA” (pure) like Ganga
water stood on my ground. But the unfortunate thing is my special ones were not
with me. Don’t you think I deserve more than that? And I know for certain, I am
not alone.
But
yet proudly I am saying we are “girls” we are “women” we suffered a lot but we
fought all battles of our unfortunate fate like a “JHANSI KI RANI, LAXMIBAI” we
are Durga, we are Kali. We have changed this world and we will change no matter
who is with us. We don’t need any mere paper law. We can protect ourselves.
One change which I want to see in this society that we
want to become independent; we don’t want to beg in front of anyone. The day when I will be able to protect
my rights I will proudly say yes, there is no discrimination. Discrimination is
nothing it’s just only a thinking of orthodox people who tried their best to
make women’s status inferior. I want to see each and every girl to be free from all sorts of fear.
!! Neither am I puppet nor I a doll
I am a divine ray, who can change any one’s soul!!
