Kitna Chain hota hai sachchai mein (A tale of my fear)
“Fresher’s
party, wow will rock man but which pub are we going to explore?” I asked some
of my classmates. “Royalty-Bandra, seniors have decided this venue for juniors”
Rahul informed us. I was happy enough to think anything else and subsequently I couldn't think that my family was typical one and they did not like such stuff
from inception. I was/am from typical Brahmin family and for us discos/pubs
were taboo but out of my eagerness I also registered my name for fresher’s
party.
It
was first year of my law and I was a totally new to this colour world. I remember
when I got admission in one of the prestigious law college of Mumbai; my dad
was the only one who was even happier than anyone else could be towards my
first step which I took in law world. He was the one who was buying books and my
college bag so eagerly which I also couldn't. Unfortunately to say I didn't think
all these before to register my name for fresher’s party. I didn't even bother
to take permission from my dad and there was not even a single percent shame I could
see on my face. Today when I am a final year law student I understand how bad my behavior
was.

But
as we all say “it’s never too late”, and really it was not too late for my conscience
as well to understand such a simple funda of life. On that same night I saw a
dream that my dad is crying and I am unable to help him in any way. I woke up
hurriedly washed my face had a glance on wall watch it was 7 o’ clock when I used
to get up for my college. As usually routine I took bath got ready for my
college and reached Nalasopara station by 8 o’ clock to catch 8.14’s Churchgate
fast. I caught the train and reached college; attended my lectures but my soul
was not giving me permission for something that I couldn't understand what exactly wrong is? Going to discs/pubs is/are wrong or going without informing parents
is wrong. I left my college soon and caught the train to reach my home sweet home.
After
reaching home I told my mom that I want to attend fresher’s party but it is at “Royalty-Bandra”
which is a disc and I will become late as well because it starts by 7.30.
My
mom simply answered “do ask your dad, if he permits why would I mind” and I felt
that she is right I should ask whether I am wrong or right irrespective to any
conclusion I strongly felt that I should ask him directly he is the only one
who can guide me in a proper way. The moment my dad came I entered in his
bedroom and told him the entire story and my desire to go to disc. He just
smiled and said “fine go will come to pick you up but promise me that you will
score good marks in your coming semester”. Tears rolled down in my eyes and I really
abused myself how foolish I am how can I even think of doing anything without
asking my dad.

And
that incident made our bounding stronger and I took his advice lots of time in
order to deal peculiar situations of this stubborn life. :) :) :) :)
We lie because we fear, lying
is not a solution it’s just an alternative option to do or not to do…. :) :) :)
